A Dog's Purpose: from a 6 year old

I got this email from a friend, I am a huge dog lover, this one brought tears to my eyes, isn't it so true.

A Dog's Purpose, (from a 6-year-old)

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.

Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away..

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" The six-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply..
Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

Being always grateful for each new day and for the blessing you have.

That's what dogs teach us...

Quote from Thomas Troward

I love this one!

"My mind is a center of Divine operation. The Divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression and this means the production of something beyond what has gone before, something entirely new, not included in past experience, though proceeding out of it by an orderly sequence of growth. Therefore, since the Divine cannot change its inherent nature, it must operate in the same manner in me; consequently in my special world, of which I am the center, it will move forward to produce new conditions, always in advance of any that have gone before."

-Thomas Troward, The Dore Lectures on Mental Science

How to Have a Life Beyond the Ordinary

How to Have a Life Beyond the Ordinary: From Lesson 3 of the SGR Program
Since we were kids, we've been conditioned to see ourselves as having limits.
Children are born free of mental baggage. They see themselves as capable of doing and being anything they choose. That's why as kids we dream of being astronauts or explorers or movie-stars. But as we get older - our minds get shackled. We slowly give up our dreams to fear, worry or feelings of lacking.

This is a big mistake. You see, it's as easy to manifest a million dollars as it is to manifest one dollar. It may take a little longer - but it's just as easy. But due to negative feelings and fears - few of us attempt such big dreams.
Instead, we settle for the ordinary and as a result fall into the current reality trap.
How many dreams have you given up on?

Here's a list of big goals that people often put off.
-writing that book
-starting that business
-learning that language
-having that baby
-visiting that country
-getting that degree
-attending that seminar
-starting that Internet business
------Vow to stop putting down your dreams!

Regardless of what may be going on in your life, I’d suggest that you take the time to build a very clear image of the life you want. Then, hold that image – focus on it daily. Take the time to paint the image in your mind – paint the image with words on a sheet of paper first. Write it again and again, and when you do, mix it up a little. Picture yourself in different scenarios enjoying this result in your life.

I want you do to this at least once each day for a full month. As William James says, “You are depositing this image in the treasury of your subconscious mind. And when that happens … it will attract itself into your reality".
The first step to this of course, is deciding what this image is.

The First Step, Deciding What You Want
The Mind is Like a Drunken Monkey, Forever Jumping Around, Never Staying Steady
~ Zen Saying

The world and everything and everyone in it has a tendency to keep its conscious attention jumping from one idea or activity to another. The average individual has an ARRAY of unrelated subjects laying across the screen of his mind … the likes of which you’d have difficulty finding anywhere else outside of a common encyclopedia! There is no focus, no direction, and no stimulated, controlled thinking going on at all.

As Wallace Wattles mentions in this chapter, “You can never get rich or start the creative power into action by sending out unformed longings and vague desires.”
What Wallace is saying is this: Many of us are not sure what we want and so we get nowhere.

Here's the problem:
Let's say you decide you want to open a specific business, say a particular Internet home business. You've been dreaming about it - thinking about it - feeling the excitement at the prospect of being able to run your own profitable website.

Now of course as you're experiencing these feelings and thinking about it, the Law of Attraction starts going into action and things begin to happen to bring you towards this dream.
But then you have a friend approach you with a different business idea, say to open a restaurant. You suddenly get excited at this prospect. You now start to question the Internet Business idea.

Of course, as you're doing this, you continue using the Law of Attraction. But in the opposite way. The internet business that was coming your gets pushed away. A whole new reality is being created - now a reality of you as a restaurant owner. But it does not stop there. A few weeks later, your friend may decide that he no longer wants to go into that venture with you. Now you're back to square one. Two businesses were on their way into your reality - but your indecision had pushed them back.

Every time you dream of a new goal - you plant a little seed in the Universe. Focusing and thinking of the goal is like watering that seed. As you apply more thought to the goal - shoots finally begin to sprout and push out of the ground. But way to often - it's at this point that we suddenly change our minds. And when we do that we push the shoots back into the ground. No beautiful plant takes shape. And in terms of our goals - we move back to square one. To overcome indecision - think carefully about what you want. And stick to it as long as your feelings about it stay positive.

The Second Step, Think BIG
Remember, the Law of Attraction implies that anything is within your field of possibility if you desire it strongly, believe in it, and take action towards it.
If you had a genie ready to grant your wishes, would you ask for something small? Say a chocolate milkshake? No. You'd be nuts. You'd be asking for bigger things. A business, a soul-mate, glorious health, glorious wealth.

The Law of Attraction is like a genie. So don't squander your potential on small things.
Now here's why it's important to think big. There is so much that can be improved in the world. There is much you can contribute. But you cannot do this by being mediocre.
Jose Silva, the founder of Silva Method studied the Law of Attraction for many years and one of the things he found was that the Law of Attraction works best for you and you can ask for something that will not just benefit you, but others too.

Setting a goal of getting a $1000 raise is a small goal. There's not much you can do to benefit the world with that extra $1000 per month. But setting a goal to run your own business and earn $50,000 a month is a good goal. With that money you can not only create a good life for your family, but also donate money to your favorite charities or fund neighborhood projects.
You owe it not just to yourself - but to the world - to THINK BIG.
So how do you tell if your goal is big enough?

Joe Vitale, one of the teachers from the Secret has a wonderful quote.
A good goal should SCARE you a little. And EXCITE you A LOT!
~ Joe Vitale

That simple quote sums up some really important lessons.
If the goal doesn't excite you, well you're not going to attract it.
Goals that EXCITE you are the type that let you pour your heart and soul into them. The bigger the goals - the more excited about it you can get.

Now let's look at the second part of that quote. "Scare you a little."
If you don't feel a tiny bit nervous about the goal - odds are you're THINKING TOO SMALL.
Apply this principle to your goals. Do they excite you? Do they scare you a little?
Those that do are probably the right ones.

In Honor of Marin Luther King Jr: Famous Quotes

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. one of the greatest people in history, he had the vision, the courage and the dream, here are some of his most famous quotes:

-All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.

-Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.

-Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. -Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

-Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.

-The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: "If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?" But... the good Samaritan reversed the question: "If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?"

-The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.

-The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Impact Others and Impact Yourself

As you find harmony with the universal laws and law of attraction you will understand that the greatest thing you can do is give to others, that our purpose here is to serve others. I love this poem:

"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.....Serve and thou shall be served."

-Ralph Waldo Emmerson.

Give without want, want for others what you want for yourself and continously find new ways to serve others better. The great secret of life. When you do, all that you desire, will come to you, it is by universal law, but serve others out of passion, love, joy and fulfillment, serve and give without worrying about what you will get out of it, focus only on giving, helping and serving. Live each day giving yourself. When you impact others, you will impact yourself!

Your Destiny: 87% of the Population Never Finds It!

Figuring out your destiny and life purpose is a responsibility that each and everyone of us has. I read recently that 87% of the population go through their entire life without achieving higher than ordinary levels of awareness and finding their life purpose and passions. They never learn that life is about endeavoring to live to the fullest.

Here is a 13th Century poem that I think is beautiful:

You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust.
You were born with ideals and dreams.
You were born with greatness.
You were born with wings.
You are not meant for crawling, so don't.
You have wings.
Learn to use them and fly!

There are a few key concepts that can help you realize your dreams, destination and life purpose. It is not so much what you are doing, but how you are doing it and how you are living.

Always know that anything is possible, choose to live on the side of infinite possiblity, hold a sense of the possible in your mind and in all that you do. When you do, things will come to you to allow you to overcome any and all challenges.

Know that your purpose will only be found in the service to others. Learn to give without want. Give without expectations and always create new ways to serve others better. Want for others what you want for yourself, and your wish will be granted. Make it your nature to be generous. The more you give of yourself, no matter how big or little, the more opportunities you open up to you. Give your money or your time or your knowledge or your smile or your help.... look at this poem by Swami Sivananda on the best thing to give:

The best thing to give:
Your enemy is forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To your child, a good example.
To your father, deference.
To your mother, conduct that will make her proud.
To yourself, respect.
To all men, charity.

Live and do your life purpose with passion, inspiration and a sense of joy. All of these positive emotions will raise your energy and vibration allowing more good to be attracted to you. Did you know that the word "enthusiasm" is greek and means "God within". Did you know that the word "inspired" comes from the root words "in - spirit" which also refers to "God within". When you feel a desire, that is actually a power within you seeking fuller expression or higher level of performance, that is what makes you feel inspired and enthusiastic. It becomes a deep sense of knowing that which you were meant to do and be. That is being inspired. That is enthusiam.

Finally, live with a sense of belonging. Know that you are connected to everything and everyone. When you raise the energy and vibration of others, you raise the vibration of the collective whole. Here is another poem by Sivananda:

All life is one. The world is one home.
All creation is an organic whole.
No man is independent of this whole.
Man makes himself miserable by separating
Himself from others. Separation is death.
Unity is eternal life.

Finally, from the William Blake poem: "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is: infinite."

Remember that life is infinite in resources and opportunities and that you are already connected to them all!

How to Set and Achieve Goals

Setting goals is important to achieving success in any and all things. It is also important to write them down. This technique works by two powerful ways.

First, when you write down a goal, you are making a committment to yourself, and people who make committments are signficantly more likely to follow through due to psychological triggers.

Second, writing goals down also give you a visual affirmation. So not only do you have the affirmation in your thoughts, you also have a visual affirmations and having repeated the affirmation and created various sensory forms of the affirmation also make that affirmation more powerful and likely to be met.

FREE Lesson on Creating Wealth; SGR lesson 1

Here is an excerpt from the FREE Lessons from the Secret Science of Getting Rich (SGR) program by Bob Proctor and Jack Canfield of the incredibly popular Best Selling DVD and book "The Secret".

Why Does Wealth Lie in the Hands of a Few - While Large Numbers of Humanity Remain in a Perpetual State of Poverty?

Millions of people are already using the Law of Attraction to make their lives successful. It's no longer a secret, but a household term that is rightfully being given the attention it deserves.
You too can learn how to use the "Law of Attraction" to create whatever you want in life - be it money, love or happiness - and generate abundance.

But in this case, and indeed in the book that inspired The Secret, we're going to focus on generating abundance, money and wealth.

Which of course, begs the question...

Why Manifest Money First?
The Law of Attraction as explained in The Secret teaches how you can have, be and do whatever you want in life. So why focus on money?

Money on its own is neither good nor bad. It is a means to an end. However, there is an urgent need for teaching the laws of creating money to the world.

Take any group of 100 people at the start of their working career and follow them for 40 years until they reach retirement age and here's what you'll find, according to the Social Security Administration:

Only 1 will be wealthy
4 will be financially secure
5 will continue working, not because they want to but because they have to
36 will be dead
54 will be dead broke - dependent on the meager Social Security checks, relatives, friends and even charity for a minimum standard of living.

That's 5% successful, 95% unsuccessful.
These, of course, are US statistics. In the rest of the world, especially the developing world, the situation is far worse. But What Makes this 5% Different?
There are millionaires with college degrees, and millionaires with little education.
There are millionaires who were born rich. And there are millionaires who were once dead-broke and homeless.
There are millionaires in developed countries, but also millionaires in poor nations. There are plumbers who are millionaires, and doctors who starve.
There is no single quality that stands out among the wealthy except ONE...

The Wealthy People in the World Understand and Use the Law of Attraction in their Daily Lives.
The millionaires understand that abundance is there for the taking. It is not a win-lose situation - there is enough for everyone. We can all be rich.

But humanity must learn to harness the correct thought process to attract wealth...

Did you know that the Inspiration for the film - The Secret came from a simple little book written in 1910. It's called the "Science of Getting Rich" and its author was a man called Wallace D. Wattles.

This is a summary of Wallace's book:
There is a universal energy from which all things are made. This energy fills the entire universe.
When you form a thought in your head, you tap into this energy, and you actually create that which you are thinking about. Mankind has the ability to create a thought and cause the subject of the thought to be created within this field of Universal Energy.

To activate this ability, we must learn to harness our creative mind. Typically, we function with our competitive mind. But to create things with thought, we need to activate the creative mind.
We can come into harmony with this Universal energy through the act of expressing gratitude. Gratitude unifies our mind with this all encompassing Universal energy.

To manifest something new, simply hold an image of what you seek in your mind. And express gratitude to the Universe for having granted this to you. To achieve wealth, apply this same principle - hold a clear vision of the wealth you hope to attain. Then express gratitude that this wealth is coming to you. You must have unwavering faith and devout gratitude.
All that you include in your mental image will come to you through the physical realm - through the process of natural ways such as trade and commerce.

To claim this wealth, you must be active. You must do all that you can do each day to make this vision a reality. Especially strive to deliver to others something of value greater than what they paid you for.

Those who practice these instructions will get rich. And the riches they receive will be in the exact proportion to the definiteness of their vision, the fixity of their purpose, the steadiness of their faith, and the depth of their gratitude.

Lesson 7 Revealed on the SGR program

Here is an excerpt from lesson 7 of the Secret Science of Getting Rich program:

Wallace D Wattles said,

"Thinking in the certain way will bring riches to you, but you must not rely on thought alone, paying no attention to personal action. This is the rock upon which many otherwise scientific metaphysical thinkers meet shipwreck – the failure to connect thought with personal action."

Bob Proctor told an interesting story about having breakfast one day with Earl Nightingale, the co-founder of the globally successful Nightingale-Conant corporation. Bob explained that he was fascinated with the great volume of business that Earl Nightingale took care of, but even more particularly with the way Earl seemed to move in a calm, confident manner. He never appeared to be rushed. So, one day at breakfast, Bob asked Earl how he had mastered time management. Earl laughed and said, “I’ve never mastered time management. Nobody masters time management. Time can’t be managed. I merely manage activities. Each night, I write down on a sheet of paper a list of the things I have to accomplish the next day. And when I wake up … I do them.”

What a powerful lesson! While it seems like such a ridiculously simple solution, Earl Nightingale was demonstrating the very key to this chapter – he had learned how to connect powerful thought with powerful personal action.

As you’re watching the movie, The Secret, you must remember that, while various speakers are talking about the Law of Attraction, what ALWAYS precedes that attraction is ACTION.

Without ACTION, there is no attraction!

As a final note, I’d like to remind you that your list should be aggressive, but don’t try to shove 170 activities into a single day. You won’t get anywhere on that plan either. Remember what Wallace Wattles reminds us of: “Your action must be in your present business or employment. It must be upon the persons and things in your present environment. You cannot act where you are not. You cannot act where you have been, and you cannot act where you are going to be. You can only act where you are. Do not dwell on whether yesterday’s work was well or poorly done. Do today’s work well. Do not try to do tomorrow’s work now. There will be plenty of time to do that when tomorrow comes. If you take care of the action, the attraction will always take care of itself."

Your Attitude Creates Extraordinary Results

"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. it is a catalyst..a spark that creates extraordinary results."
