Goal Setting
A journey requires goals. Think about it, what do you really want? If you do not know, how can you receive it? Once you identify what you really want, write it down and if you have it already; fantastic! If you do not have what you really want, then establish it as a goal. Choose what you really want to be your experience.
“To choose is also to begin.”
-Starhawk
Goal Setting Exercise:
Take a few minutes to reflect on what exactly you wish to do, each day, each week, month and year. Now, take those thoughts and list 3-5 goals. Here are some examples of some goals:
1) I wish to spend more time with my family.
2) I wish to exercise.
3) I wish to work and have a successful career.
4) I wish to find love.
5) I wish to have more money.
Go back and revise your goals and be as detailed, objective and finite as possible. List your goal and then describe it as you imagine it would feel like if you were doing it or having it at this present moment.
1) I wish to spend 3 hours a day, one on one time with my family, playing, laughing and having fun together at the park.
2) I wish to exercise for 30-60 minutes 3-5 times a week, including walking, bicycle riding, weight lifting and swimming.
3) I wish to work in an environment that allows me to strive, not just survive, I wish to be successful and promoted to manager within the year.
4) I wish to meet my soul mate and be involved in a loving, caring, sharing and passionate relationship with this person and partner.
5) I wish to make “$ XX” dollars a year.
Now, go back and review your list again, read it out loud, how does the list make you feel? Do you feel good and happy when you read it and imagine yourself doing it or having those things right now? Good, that means you have identified good goals for you at this time. If you feel anxious or uneasy about your list, then go back and re-write the goals over and over until you do feel good. You should perform this exercise again, once you meet these goals and establish more goals. Once you get the hang of this creative process you will see your life unfold in front of you.

The Ordinary Can Become the Extraordinary
When you live in harmony with the law of attraction and other universal laws, you can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.......
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be do. One day I shall dig my nails into earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return."
- Mary Jean Iron
I love to feel the blessings of an ordinary day, when I do, I feel so much more joy and fulfillment. I feel the love and gratitude flowing through me, then the day becomes extraordinary. And you know what, that is when the magic happens, things just turn out better, "lucky" things happen. But in reality it is the universal laws at work, the law of gratitude, law of attraction and the law of cause and effect. Focus on what you can give back to the world, and you will be rewarded.

Mind's Role in Self Healing
Here is a great quote on the mind's role in health and disease:
"The mind has untapped potential far beyond the every day uses that we make of it. Self-healing is a major factor in curing most illnesses. A patient's mental attitude can help or hinder the body's self-healing mechanisms. Through various forms of meditation or self hypnosis, the power of the mind or psyche can be enlisted for the purpose of speeding up the healing process."
-Dr. Lawrence LeShan author of "You Can Fight for Your Life"

Unleash Your Inner Mind Power: Self Hyposis Works!
I was always a skeptic when anyone would talk about meditation or self hypnosis. Then I got sick, and I could not get better. I was exhausted, tired, weak, felt horrible and missed out on a lot of fun things.
I spent months studying self healing and I quickly learned the power of the mind is critical to advancing recovery and full healing. It is a necessary piece of the puzzle. You cannot completely heal yourself (and the doctors are not going to heal you fully either!) until you tap into your inner healing power.
The best, most effective way to do this is to open the magic door of your inner healing power through meditation or self hypnosis. Try it, you will never believe how effective it is until you do. I did, and after awhile, it worked!
There is no power in the world as great as the power in your mind. Those that learn how to release these powers become effective co-creators or as Dr. Dyer calls them "connectors". (ref: http://www.Success-InnperPeace.com )
The person who learns techniques of self hypnosis discovers the secret to life success and optimal health. Learning self- hypnosis is a skill, a long term skill that I strongly suggest you try to master.
Here are some reasons why self hypnosis works:
1) Imagination is more powerful than willpower! In any battle between imagination and will, the imagination always wins! This means, use your imagination, not your reason to heal yourself. (Please understand this was hard for me! I was a science-based clinical person with a degree in physcial therapy and a masters in healthcare adminstration---that is all science and facts, the power of the mind and imagination were the furthest thing from my plan!)
2) Imagination is more powerful than reason. Our imagination is the most powerful thing we possess. We create with it, we attract with it, we heal with it. If you over analyze and apply rational thought and reason continuously, it will slow your healing process, unleash your creativity, think abundant health!
3) Only one idea can be entertained by the mind at any given time. Conflicting ideas cannot be held at one time. Therefore choose to focus on new results, choose to focus on optimal health.
4) Any imagined condition will become real if persisted in, provided it is believed and felt to be deserved. This one concept is the secret to self healing!
I have read and taken various programs to help me get good and effective at self hypnosis. These are the ones I recommend:
http://www.QuantumMindProgram.com
http://www.SelfHypnosisForLife.com
Try it! It is worth it! These program cost nothing compared to pills, dr appt.s, surgery and the stress and exhaustion of chronic illness. You deserve to feel better, just try it!

Riding Satan
I went horseback riding this past weekend with my nephews and niece. My horse was named “Satan”. Satan turned out to be a gentle giant; he even followed his leader and stayed on the path.
During our ride, my little niece fell of her horse and broke her wrist. My family was very upset. Negative thoughts and words were flying everywhere. Years ago, before I had learned the power of living in Hope with an abundant attitude; I may have jumped on that negativity band wagon too. Instead, I taught my niece and nephews the “Find the Good” game. It goes something like this; you take a bad situation and turn it into something good. For example, “Kailie fell off her horse, hurt her wrist …..and the good part is we had an opportunity to spend the afternoon outside on a glorious day and enjoy time with family and nature.”
It takes a bit of effort and at first appears to go against our logic, but soon you realize how much better it feels to focus on the good. We spent the entire afternoon playing the “Find the Good” game, it got silly at the end, but we laughed and enjoyed the entire day, Kailie even forgot completely about her wrist. Humans have the inherent tendency to immediately focus on the bad, but every situation “is what it is”. Every situation that is bad, actually has an equally good side. It is just a reflection of our mind, our attitude and a conscious decision on how we respond.
I have been challenged for many years by Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disease that causes moderate to severe weakness, fatigue and other issues. MG obviously has its hardships, struggles; with potentially physical and emotional pains and losses. I experienced significant losses in all areas of my life and struggled with severe MG for years (decades). But I have realized through my study of healing and advancing my recovery, that even MG, as bad as it has been for me, has many good things too. For example, the good part about MG is ….that I have taken the time, energy and effort to study life success and advancing recovery. Had I not gone through this adversity, I would never had been open minded and open hearted to study, learn and internalize a life filled with Hope and an Abundant Attitude.
So when you are facing massive adversity, and at times MG felt almost unbearable, remember that it is only through adversity that we become who we need to be to reach our goals. Napoleon Hill in the chapter on Persistence in his book "Think & Grow Rich" wrote it so well when he said that " every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent benefit".
May I propose that everyone take an opportunity to think and post at least one good thing that has come out of an experience with adversity. If you feel buried in the issues, may I offer my articles “Change of Focus”, “ABCs of an Abundant Attitude” or “Top Ten List of Positives of the Chronic Illness Experience” to help spark some ideas. All can be downloaded free from my Acquired Hope website at http://www.acquiredhope.com This way of thinking and way of being has allowed my to go into remission and beat my chronic illness. I completely healed myself, I cured myself by changing the way I think and feel, by changing my attitude. As silly as it sounds, it is absolutely possibly, I know it, I did it. You can beat anything, you can change your results in any areas of your life, you just need to learn how and make a committment to do it and persevere. When you commit, the universe bends around you to provide you with all the assistance you need to meet your goals. Acquiring hope and an abundant attitude, living in the now being focused on gratitude and abundance really does provide for a richer, fuller, healthier life!
Thank you for the opportunity to share this “Find the Good” game with you and I hope you enjoy it. Enjoy living in Hope and with an Abundant Attitude!

FIT Attitude
FIT Attitude
I like to think of a full and complete attitude as FIT. A fully FIT attitude is one that has an alignment of Feelings, Intuition and Thoughts. I love the saying that Prayer is when a person talks to God or their Higher Power. But intuition is God or our Higher Power talking to us. A person who has a strong intuition listens to the guidance and Divine inspiration that is running through them. Many people work very hard at developing and maintain a strong sense of intuition. I do. I work at it, daily. So, a fully FIT attitude will be one that is strong and effective because their feelings, intuition and thoughts are all in alignment and they are all working with high, positive vibrations. A person who has a FIT attitude will also see the results that they imagine and desire. They are winning; they also reach their goals on continuously and effortlessly.
I see individuals who are thinking positive thoughts and feeling good, but they ignore that intuition, that Divine guidance and inspiration. It is that Divine guidance and inspiration, the message from your God or Higher Power that leads you to perform inspired actions. It is the actions that ultimately provide you with your results and your condition, circumstance and environment.

FAT Attitude
FAT Attitude
Is your attitude truly and fully FAT? I like to think of a complete attitude as one that is strong, effective, inspirational and attractive. It is one that has an alignment of Feelings, Actions and Thoughts. Our attitudes are said to be a composite of our thoughts, actions and feelings. When one is working with a fully FAT attitude, they are seeing the results that they imagine and desire, they are winning, they reach their goals continuously and effortlessly. They are successful in every way.
But many times I see individuals with incomplete or ineffective attitudes, as their attitudes are not fully FAT, meaning they may have positive thoughts, thoughts of a high vibration and yet their feelings are not the same or their actions do not reflect these thoughts.
For example, a person may think they are being positive and say positive things, but they have feelings of doubt and/or limitation deep inside of them in their subconscious. Or they think positive thoughts and perform actions that are in opposition to their thoughts. These people are not working with a strong and effective attitude; it is an attitude that is not complete or fully FAT. These people are not seeing the results that they want, they are not winning. Are you working with a FAT attitude?

Inspirational Quote and Action
“Nothing is ever quite as bad as it could be.”
-Amy Hempel
Today’s Inspired Action:
Develop a good word habit. Record your conversations while you are on the phone or talking to others. Listen to your choice of words and focus. Think about the words you are using. Make a list of the ones you wish to stop saying. Work to eliminate the negative or self limiting words from your vocabulary. Once you become conscious of the words you want to eliminate, it is easy to substitute a more positive, empowering word.

Creative Power: Mental Exercises
Mental exercise to inspire creativity, flex your creative mind muscles:
Assume the opposite: When faced with an issue or situation that you believe you know the cause or root of the problem, assume the opposite. Imagine the factor to be entirely different or even that the factor does not exist at all. Make a list of what other possibilities may be causing the problem.
Change your conditions, circumstance or environment: Something as simple as changing your physical location, the time of evaluation, your thoughts and feelings at the moment can open up your mind to the creative flow of opportunity and possibilities. If you are feeling stuck on issues and roadblocks, change location, go outside or listen to some uplifting, energetic music. Work in another room or turn on different lighting. Change your mood and you can change your mindset. This can have a dramatic effect on your prespective, thoughts, feelings and therefore your congruent actions.
Seek Out Opportunities: Have a wild brainstorming session, create a list of 30 or more ways or possible outcomes. Do not stop until you have at least 30, there is no limit on what you write down, no matter how outlandish the ideas seem at the moment. Seek out different ideas, thoughts and ways of looking at the situation and ways of solving the situation. Never underestimate the power of asking!
Shift your perspective: look at the situation from another persons view or vantage point. Take yourself out of the situation and put on objective eyeglasses. Try to view the issue from as many perspectives as you can. Explore how these various perspectives and vantage points make you feel. Create a new reflection point. Follow those that leave you with only positive thoughts and emotions. Be a good finder. After each issue or idea, add the statement “and the good thing is (Blank)” (I learned this trick from Jack Canfield from the Secret Science of Getting Rich program). This practice will help guide you to open opportunities based on good emotions, thoughts and actions, this will help you to hold only positive thoughts and emotions in your mind, as you continue your evaluation process.
Make time for creativity: explore the power of self-hypnosis and meditation to allow your imagination to create the images of the results, goals, dreams and things you wish to manifest in your life. Actually see the result occurring, work from the end. Focus on the end result, see it in your mind, hold it in your thoughts. Make a commitment to the process and approach and you will transform your life and results. Become consciously aware of the creative power within you and follow those actions that are inspired and powered by your creative time and energies. This will deeply impact your results and your success. This part is neccessary for fast results.

Action: Unleashing Your Creative Power
Action:
Action is required in order to manifest new results. Putting a new process or technique into action can being overwhelming, intimidating and frightening when one is not prepared. Effective actions are successful actions. Successful actions result from knowing the issue, thinking of possible outcomes, targeting the preferred outcome, developing goals and a plan to obtain that outcome and becoming fully engaged in your plan, with 100% effort, always holding in your head, the chosen result and believing that you are continuously moving forward towards realizing it.

Attitude: Unleash Your Creative Power
Attitude:
"Your attitude is the composite of your thoughts, feelings and actions" - Bob Proctor from Secret Science of Getting Rich Program.
When you have a congruent attitude, you hold and maintain all positive thoughts, feelings and forward actions or all negative thoughts feelings and backwards actions. Tapping into your creative power requires an open mind. This means your attitude; your thoughts, feelings and actions must be those of willingness. A willingness to imagine and see new ideas, opportunities and possibilities from a perspective of infinite possibilities. This willingness will enhance your mental dexterity and enable you to look at situations with a spin, while holding in your mind the attitude of opportunity and creativity as opposed to focusing on roadblock that situations and issues can create.
This ability to shift your mindset, your perception and attitude will leverage your strengths because you will begin to focus on what can be done and how you can use your skills and talents to create the results you desire and to become fully engaged in your plan. The alternative path, which is typically the road more frequently traveled, is one that focuses on the obstacles and the reasons why it cannot be done. Since your thoughts control what you manifest in your life, your results, you choose your outcome: one of possibility and created to your liking, or the other, one of lack, limitation and dissatisfaction. It is your choice, you can choose your results, but it all starts with the right attitude.

Creativity is an aptitude that everyone possesses, yet not everyone fully expresses. Independent of what your individual talents are, you use creativity everyday in how you approach and perceive life situations, issues and people. The difference between people who use their creative power to choose their results and manifest outcomes they desire lies in the degree or depth of their belief and in what ways they decide to use creativity in daily life and the thought process.
Aptitude in relation to creativity means the ability to create new ideas and thoughts from the inside, regardless of the appearance or influence of external factors by combining, changing or reapplying ones that already exist. It allows you to take from what you already know and build on it, to create an experience that is new and different, yet out of past experiences to get new results.
Aptitude develops out of awareness and develops as one gains experience and advances towards the Mastermind level.

Life is Meant To Be Abundant!
This may be an abstract concept for many. It took me awhile to accept it when I first heard it, and I had to study and study the concept until I believed it myself. It goes against what many of us have been told or taught all of our lives. Whether you were raised in a family with a poverty mindset or grew up experiencing continuous financial issues or if you are currently still trading your time for money in your job as you try to pay off your debt. The truth is really that there is no such thing as lack or limitation, there is enough money in the world for all of us to be rich, wealthy and prosperous. This is the truth for you even if it is not in front of you at this exact moment. If you do not believe this, you push against it and it then wealth cannot come into your experience. You will remain poor and unsuccessful.
So mastering the secret to success and the ability to choose your results starts in having the mindset and belief that life is meant to be abundant and there is an abundance of opportunity for you! You were meant to have everything and anything that you desire. Learn to reject thoughts of scarcity, limitation, lack and poverty. Fill your mind with thoughts and images of wealth, prosperity, success and the luxuries of financial freedom. When you do, you will start the magnetic process of attracting wealth to you. You will magnetically attract resources, money, people opportunities that support you and provide you with everything that you need to live a life of abundance. You can start to realize a result of success and wealth, you can choose a result that is different than the one you currently have.
I used to think that wealth and prosperity belonged only to people that I considered exceptional or better than me. I grew up in a family with a poverty, scarcity mindset, that there was never enough to go around. My parents used to say, "life is not fair", "life is hard", "money makes people mean". The truth is, that none of those statements are true. They are purely excuses and limiting beliefs, a conditioning that was probably passed down to my parents from their parents or other external influences like schools, newspapers, television or society.
Life is meant to be abundant!!!! Endeavor to believe it and live as such!

Mentors: Move Ahead Quickly
No one moves ahead quickly without significant help from others. Those who have mentors advance more rapidly professionally and personally. But mentoring may not be what you think it is. We all have mentors. We all have many mentors. Sometimes it is just becoming aware of who your mentors are.
Mentors are people in your life who listen, encourage, support, challenge and advise you. They provide direction. They help you to take a look at your situation or issue from a different perspective and help you to see the possibilities and options that you did not see initially. They allow you to make an informed and thoughtful decision and assist in problem solving to increase your confidence, strengthen your abundant attitude. They provide you respect.
Two decades of intensive research has proven what we all know intuitively: those who have significant relationships with people they consider mentors advance more rapidly professionally and personally. They become aware and learn the attributes of successful, fruitful and highly energetic people. No one advances forward quickly without significant help from others.
Traditionally, we think of mentors as our boss, a superior who may be training us for a higher position within an organization. We need to shift our thinking to a more collaborative, developmentally focused view of mentoring. We need to open our minds to who we may consider mentors in our lives. Our mentors may be friends, co workers, family, authors or clergy. We all have potential mentors around us each and every day. This team of potential mentors has our personal growth and development in mind and of which any of them are experienced and able to guide us or provide direction.
When you are in need of assistance or guidance making an important decision or obtaining knowledge on a certain skill, task or career, it is recommended that you create a mentor list. On the left hand side of a piece of paper, list the current issues or opportunities. On the right hand side, list the names of people you know or trust to help you to make a confident and purposeful decision. Do not worry so much about matching the people up; just put the names on the paper. Think with an open mind. Try to come up with 10-15 names. Next, reflect on each person, what they like, how they form their opinions, what experience or expertise they offer and what you admire about them. Remember, one does not need to be an expert in an area in order to offer you good sound advice on your personal or professional development. Develop a team of mentors and advance your success and abundant attitude in record timing.
The Mentors of the Secret are some of the best mentors I have ever had. They say that you become the composite of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Why not surround yourself and fill your time with the experience and success of the masterminds of the Secret: http://www.SecretScienceofGettingRichProgram.com or www.ChooseYourResults.com

Are You Success Savvy?
Are You Success Savvy?
I have recently come across some interesting findings on success. I used to think extremely successful people had some sort of “success gene”, that they were born with some innate know-how on how to achieve great things. However, with a lot of reading and studying I have come across some principles of success and have come to realize that these people, these extremely successful people are not born with this knowledge, they acquire it! This means that success and the science of creating success is something that we can all learn, study and master. The study of success is a science, it has predictable outcomes. What you put in to it comes out in the tail end.
Here are some interesting definitions of success:
“Success is not just being important, it is being significant.” –author unknown
“Success in life is becoming what you truly want to be”. – Wallace D. Wattles
“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.” -Earl Nightingale
Becoming Successful
So how does one learn to become successful and achieve the results their desire? They learn and study the science of success; they learn and study the habits of successful people. In most cases this practice involves raising your awareness, habituating the practice of goal setting and planning and learning to focus on the present. Did you know that it has been said that most individuals only spend 1% of their life focusing in the present?
It Is All About Focus
Most people do not focus on their current tasks and activities. They are thinking about their past; the fight they had last night with their significant other, the children’s soccer game after work, the weekend plans, etc. They do not allow and demand of themselves to actually fully be and act in the present. Did you know that it has been said that only 2% of the population actually thinks creatively? In addition, 3% of individuals think that they think, and 95% of the population would rather die than think? Since thought has been linked to results and understanding that mental activity does not constitute as thinking, this means only a small percentage of the population really understand and uses the power of creative thinking to fast forward to their goals and realize their ideals. These are the people that are extremely successful, they choose their results. So how does one become more aware and learn how to work at their full potential and realize their goals? They progress through the seven levels of awareness.
Levels Of Awareness
These levels are as follows:
Our first level of awareness is our animal awareness, this level is innate, we are aware of ourselves and others, we are aware of the needs to sustain life.
The second level of awareness is the mass level. This is where an individual’s awareness remains quite limited. Their decisions are based upon what everyone else is doing, they do not think for themselves. They conform, they follow the masses. The majority of people, more than half are at this level and stay at this level their entire life time. These individual do not use creative thought. Most of them are not happy with their current results.
The third level of awareness is aspiration. This is where an individual becomes aware of deep feelings and desires that may be different than that of what everyone else is doing and they start to explore these feelings, desires and thoughts. They are wanting more, they want further growth and development professionally and personally, they aspire to be more. This is when they want to break away from the masses and become an individual.
The fourth level of awareness is the individual level or stage. This is where a person uses creative thought to create their own identity statement; this is the who, what and the why, their ultimate purpose in life, their own personal “because”. This is the level where they figure out their passion, their goals, their dreams and their plans, and this purpose is unique to that individual. These are the individual reasons and purposes that drive us. A fair percentage of individuals make it to these 3rd and 4th levels, unfortunately for many, limiting beliefs, poor self esteem, lack of confidence, feelings of doubt or other negative emotions keep many people here and they are unable to break free to the next levels of awareness. These individuals who remain in these levels never really quite get the results they desire or reach their goals efficiently or timely.
The next level of awareness is discipline. This is where an individual becomes aware of how to use thought, goals, planning, and desire to manifest the outcomes and results they want. Those with discipline to stay on course, steadfast towards their goals, no matter what is happening around them or what other people (the masses) are saying to or about them, those that learn, study, practice and habituate the science of success and wealth reach this level. Many drop out here and fail to progress beyond this point due to lack of discipline, or give up too soon before their results manifest, often times just before they reach their goals. Those that move on to the next level of awareness practice these habits of success are rewarded. Stop a moment and take an opportunity to think about why we want to aspire for more, it is to better serve others and to live a fuller life. Those individuals who have a strong desire to do things better move forward through the various levels of awareness.
The 6th level of awareness is experience. Through the study and habituation of the skills and knowledge of how to become successful and wealthy, and through steadfast discipline, one will begin to see how the process works. When they see the results they desire manifest, they will become stronger in how they practice and do more of the same. When they do not see the results they desire, they will change what they are doing, practice with discipline until they see the results they desire.
The 7th level of awareness is becoming a mastermind. Only a very small percentage of the population reaches this point. These individuals have learned the science of success, they understand how the science and process works, they have fine tuned their practices and habits based on their experience and are extremely effective at attracting success, resources, people and even wealth. They are very effective and efficient in reaching their goals, receiving their desires and manifesting the results that they want. They choose their results. Think of the capacity of helping others, serving others better and achieving your desires, when you can choose your results.
Think of the positive impact you can have on your life and other peoples’ lives when you are a mastermind. Every one of us reading this article has the mental facilities and capacity to become a mastermind. Changing the personal effects and your patterns of success at work is more important than you might think. The cost of negativity in the workplace is around $3 billion annually, according to an estimate by the U.S. Department of Labor. Not only are negative work environments costly for your company — they’re also taxing on your health and quality of life. We all want to be successful at what we do. So are you success savvy?
